Vice-President poll on Aug 12

New Delhi July 2. After having set in motion the process of presidential election, the Election Commission today announced that the Vice-Presidential election would be held on August 12 to choose a successor to Krishan Kant whose term ends on August 20.

Announcing the poll schedule, the Chief Election Commissioner, J.M. Lyngdoh, said that a notification would be issued on July 10 and the last date for filing of nominations would be July 24.
