Kalam, Sahgal coming today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM JULY 7. The Presidential candidates, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Lakshmi Sahgal, will be in here on Monday.

Dr. Kalam is arriving here in connection with the unveiling of a statue of Vikram Sarabhai at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre here. Capt. Sahgal is coming here as part of her campaign for the Presidential elections.

Dr. Kalam will be the chief guest at the function where late Sarabhai's daughter, Mrinalini Sarabhai, will unveil her father's statue.

The technocrat, M.G.K. Menon, will preside. Later, Dr. Kalam will visit the Central Institute of Mental Retardation at Jagathy here.

Dr. Kalam's visit was confirmed only today and there was no word as to whether he would be meeting the members of the Assembly here as part of his campaign.

Capt. Sahgal will meet the members of the Assembly seeking votes. She would also address a `Meet the Press Programme' organised by the Press Club here. The Joint Women's Committee and others are organising receptions for her.
