New Finance Secretary

NEW DELHI July 9. The Union Finance Minister, Jaswant Singh, has appointed S. Narayan as the new Finance Secretary from August 1.

A Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer of the 1965 batch, Mr. Narayan is at present the Revenue Secretary. He will take charge of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) from C.M. Vasudev who retires this month end.
