Brothers shot at

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI AUG. 1. A 22-year-old youth and his elder brother were shot at by unidentified persons outside their house at Bhajanpura in North-East Delhi, on Wednesday night. The attackers tried to escape on their motorcycle parked outside their house.

According to the police, the incident occurred in front of the A-Block, Yamuna Vihar house of Vivek, a post-graduate in software, around 10.45 p.m. Vivek's younger brother, Varun, pursuing a post-graduate course in bio-technology from Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, had just returned home and parked his motorcycle outside the gate of his house. He left the keys in the ignition by mistake and got down from the motorcycle to go into the house.

However, Varun had barely reached the gate when he noticed a person sitting on his motorcycle and trying to fiddle with the ignition. He came back and confronted the man, who managed to start the vehicle. Varun grappled with him, as a result of which the motorcycle fell down.

Meanwhile, an associate of the unidentified person appeared on the scene and shot at Varun, who sustained injuries on the back.

Hearing the commotion and the gunshot, Vivek rushed to his brother's help. However, he too was shot at and sustained injuries on his shoulder. As the brothers collapsed on the ground, the attackers fled.
