Letters to the Editor
Sir, We are deeply distressed by the proposed move by the Madhya Pradesh Legislators to de-recognise the science teaching programme run by the NGO, `Eklavya' of Bhopal. This programme, started as the Hoshangabad School Science Teaching Project has gone from strength to strength by involving scientists, educationists, teachers and the students. At a time when science and technology is recognised as an instrument of national development, and when the idea ``science is doing'' has been popularised among children by `Eklavya', it is spiteful of the M.P. legislators to think of scrapping HSTP. The reasons given for the de-recognition plan are flimsy. We appeal to the Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh, to nip the idea in the bud. D. Balasubramanian, Usha Raman, Hyderabad
