'Sati' prevented

Jaipur Aug. 12. Days after a woman allegedly committed `sati' in a village in Madhya Pradesh, a similar incident was prevented in Dausa district of Rajasthan due to timely intervention by police.

Twenty-four-year-old Khayal Bai Meena reportedly wanted to burn herself on the pyre of her husband, Bhagyashali (28), who died at a hospital in Hudala village after a prolonged illness, the Dausa SP, Chunni Lal, told PTI over telephone. — PTI
