SC opinion tomorrow on Presidential reference

NEW DELHI Oct. 26. The Supreme Court will give its advisory opinion on the three-point Presidential reference relating to holding of Gujarat Assembly elections on Monday. The court reserved its verdict on October 1.

The reference arose after the Election Commission passed an order on August 16 rejecting the BJP's demand for holding early polls. The Election Commission is keenly awaiting this order to announce the schedule for the polls, expected to be held in December.
