Unidentified assailants barged into the house of P. Dunkley, who was living alone in the posh Doon Vihar Colony here, and murdered her with sharp-edged weapons, they said. The body was found yesterday. A case of murder has been registered and investigations are on, they said. An Anglo-Indian and a citizen of Britain, Dunkley had been living in Dehra Dun since 1970s, local residents said. After the death of her husband, she was engaged in the care of stray animals. Later, she joined the People for Animals of the former Union Minister, Maneka Gandhi, they said. The woman was allegedly assaulted by her neighbours following a tiff over bursting of crackers on Diwali day. She had lodged a complaint with police stating she was receiving threatening calls, the sources said. PTI
