Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to C. Raja Mohan's article "India and the Gulf War" (Dec. 5) which highlights the fallout of the Gulf war. No doubt President Bush feels concerned over the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq yet he has no right to dictate to any country the type of government it should have. Whether Saddam Hussein remains at the helm or goes is the concern of the Iraqi people and the Bush administration has no business interfering in the internal affairs of Iraq. Indian leaders must safeguard the interests of the country in the Gulf where we have friendly relations which are very beneficial to us. Has Mr. Bush ever pondered Gen. Musharraf's war-like postures which are no less dangerous than the W.M.D. K.L. Batra, New Delhi
