Police firing in U.P. town

LUCKNOW DEC. 20. Three students were killed and six seriously injured when police opened fire to disperse a violent mob at Pharenda town in Maharajganj district of eastern Uttar Pradesh today.

The incident was a sequel to the murder of the president of the students union of Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College near the town.

Angry protests by local residents took a turn for the worse with a mob of students burning bogies of a passenger train.
