Police officer jailed

Patna Jan. 1. The former officer-in-charge of Shastrinagar police station, Shamshi Alam, who was involved in a "fake" encounter last Saturday, was remanded in the Beur Model jail here today. The Director-General of Police, R.R. Prasad, said here that Mr. Alam had been suspended.
