Stating that the case had been `foisted on him at the instance of the ruling AIADMK party due to political animosity', he said he always criticised the `misdeeds of the AIADMK Government'. Even if the allegations `that he interrupted the speech of another MLA inside the Assembly and threatened to kill him' were admitted as true, they would not constitute any attempt to commit murder. There is no injury caused to the complainant, he said, adding, "a bare perusal of the First Information Report would clearly reveal that no offence as alleged is made out against him and that the complaint had been falsely made". The petition is expected to come up for hearing on Monday.
