Indian batting star Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday became the highest run scorer in World Cup history, erasing Javed Miandad's existing record. Tendulkar, who opened the innings after almost a year's gap, overtook the former Pakistani captain's aggregate of 1083 runs from 33 World Cup matches, when he scored the required 25 runs in India's opening match against Holland here.
