'What is wrong in moving SC?'

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Feb. 13. The Bharatiya Janata Party president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, has welcomed and justified the Vajpayee Government's decision to move the Supreme Court for the early hearing and settlement of the Ayodhya case. "What is wrong in it? It is part of the NDA agenda,'' Mr. Naidu said at a press meet here today.

Wondering why the Congress should object to the move when "we are only asking for an early solution," he alleged that the party, which had allowed `shilanyas' and promised `Ram rajya,' seemed to have a vested interest in the continuation of the dispute.

Mr. Naidu said the BJP was consistent in its view that the Ayodhya issue should be solved either through negotiations or a judicial process. He denied that the Government was acting under pressure from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
