CHENNAI MARCH 13. Veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar underwent a total hip replacement on the left side early today.

A press release from the MIOT hospital, where he has been admitted, said the operation lasted an hour and the actor was comfortable.

Later in the evening, he was made to walk around his bed.

Surgeons have decided to operate on his knee for a total knee replacement on March 15 or 17.
