In a written reply to a question, the Finance Minister, Jaswant Singh, said the company was inspected under Section 209A of the Companies Act, 1956. The Government ordered prosecution for violation of Sections 205, 224 (8), 292(1C) and 211 (8 cases) of the Act. However, the Minister informed the House that Jet Airways has complied with the requirements of the Companies Act, 1956 in adhering to all the legal conditions required of a company of its status. In his reply, Mr. Singh said the company, M/s Jet Airways (India) Private Limited, was incorporated as a private limited company on April 1, 1992. The company became a deemed public company under Section 43 A (1A) of the Companies Act, 1956 on July 1, 1996. The word "Private'' was added to the name of the company under Section 43A (2A) of the Act with effect from January 19, 2001. The company, has, therefore complied with the requirements of the Companies Act, 1956 in this regard, he said.
