Assam bandh fails

GUWAHATI MAY 10. The 24-hour Assam bandh called by the All-Assam Minorities Students Union failed to evoke any response in the State today.

Except in some pockets in lower Assam, the bandh failed to make any impact anywhere, including the State's capital.

AAMSU had called the bandh to protest the introduction of the Illegal Migrant Laws (Repealing and Amending) Bill in Parliament to repeal the IMDT Act.
