The win puts dempo on top with seven points from three matches, displacing Salgaocar which remained on six points after suffering its first defeat. Mahindras which played one match less is third with four points. The match remained confined to midfield for major part of the game, as Dempo's attempt to score proved unsuccessful as rival keeper Gerald D'mello effected two saves off Wesley Coutinho's attempts to score the lead. However, with three minutes left for the interval, Coutinho put his team in the lead when he ran solo from the rival half after receiving a pass from Clifford. Salgaocar proved unlucky in scoring the equaliser as Lector Caido's attempt at the goal twice hit the post. Refereee Benjamin Silva showed yellow card to Salgaocar's Denzil Franco. PTI
