J&K frees 92 prisoners

Srinagar June 19. The coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir has set free 92 prisoners, held under the state's Public Safety Act of 1978, since October last year, the Assembly was told today.

However, there are 560 more such prisoners in and outside the State, whose cases were lying pending for consideration, the Home Minister, Abdul Rehman Veeri, said in a written reply.
