West Indies puts Sri Lanka in

KINGSTON (Jamaica) June 27. West Indies captain Brian Lara won the toss and chose to bowl first in the decisive second cricket Test against Sri Lanka at the Sabina Park here on Friday.

The two-match Cable & Wireless series is level 0-0 after the rain-plagued draw in St. Lucia last Tuesday.

Both teams boosted their bowling attacks by adding one pacer at the expense of a batsman.

The home team gave a debut to 21-year-old Barbadian Fidel Edwards. The inexperienced rookie has played just one first-class match, in 2002, and did not represent Barbados this season.

The teams: West Indies: Chris Gayle, Wavell Hinds, Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice-captain), Brian Lara (captain), Marlon Samuels, Omari Banks, Ridley Jacobs, Vasbert Drakes, Jerome Taylor, Corey Collymore, Fidel Edwards.
