CNN institutes award

New Delhi Aug. 7. The CNN has instituted a `CNN Young Journalist Award-India', to recognise quality journalism among young professionals in India in the age group of 22-26 from electronics, print and web media.

The award has two categories, television and print-online. The TV category is open to all young news journalists working in television in India and contestants are required to create a two-hour, 30 -minute, news feature style TV package.

Contestants for the print-online category have to submit their best by-lined stories published between January one and September 30, 2003.

The contestants must have a minimum of one-year experience in the media industry. The winners will win a trip to the CNN headquarters in Atlanta while the runners-up will spend a similar period at the CNN Bureau in New Delhi. — PTI
