An executive committee (EC) meeting of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) today thought it prudent not to approach the Supreme Court to challenge the TDSAT order upholding the legality of wireless in local loop (WLL) based limited mobility (WLL-M). The committee has decided to direct its energies on the latter part of the TDSAT order asking TRAI to police infraction of mobility rules and stipulate additional entry fee to be paid by the WLL-M companies, higher access charge retention by cellular firms and liberalised interconnection procedures. It was encouraged to adopt this course because the TDSAT had ordered a fixed four-month timeframe for making the changes.
