Two held on theft charge

Hyderabad Sept. 19. The Lalaguda police on Saturday apprehended a driver of an oil tanker, Mohd. Jaweed, on the charge of stealing Rs. 1.10 lakh cash. The stolen amount was recovered from him within 36 hours of committing the offence, the Gopalapuram ACP, R.D.S. Bhandari, told a press conference here.

In another incident, a security guard of the eSeva centre at Paradise in Secunderabad was charged with stealing Rs. 5.47 lakhs cash from the centre last night. The Ramgopalpet police had registered a case against the guard, Prahlada Rao, following a complaint lodged by the centre manager.

Stabbed: A 35-year-old man, Mohd. Khurshid Ali, was stabbed to death by five persons at Moulali under the Malkajgiri police station area on Friday night. A resident of Yakutpura in old city, the victim was a close associate of Farah, a woman charged with several offences under various police stations in the city. The accused were identified as Sijju, Abbas, Laddu Bhai, Chotu and Murtuza, brother of Farah.

Ends life: A medico, Vasundhara (20), of Gandhi Medical College, committed suicide by hanging in her hostel room in Musheerabad on Friday evening. In a suicide note, she stated that she resorted to the extreme due to ill health.
