The NHAI told the State Chief Electoral Officer, Lalit Kothari, that directives had been issued to cover the pictures and slogans on the hoardings "on a top priority basis'' by today. The Commission had asked for the removal of the hoardings saying they violated the model code of conduct. The directive was issued following a complaint by the Congress. The Commission also directed the removal of hoardings that listed the achievements of the Congress-led State Government after the BJP filed a complaint in this regard. UNI
