Back Subdued trading in rubber market

RUBBER market witnessed a mixed trend on Thursday. Sheet rubber RSS 4 declined to Rs 53 against Rs 53.50 on Wednesday.

While mild selling from traders weakened the sheet rubber price, other grades were flat in a rather inactive market .

Arrivals to the main marketing centres were very low. According to sources, growers have been confident about another bull run in the near future and the absence of buyers did not worry them.

The futures market was slightly better on Thursday.

The January delivery was quoted at Rs 54.65 (Rs 54.57) , February Rs 56.65 (Rs 56.57), March Rs 59(Rs 58.77), April Rs 61.55 (Rs 61.33), May delivery at Rs 62.95 (Rs 62.76) and June delivery at Rs 63.93 (Rs 63.78) per kg for RSS 4.

The spot market rates per kg on Thursday were: RSS 4 Rs 53 (Rs 53.50), RSS 5 Rs 51 (Rs 51), Ungraded Rs 49 (Rs 49), ISNR 20 Rs 51.75 (Rs 51.75) and Latex 60% Rs 40.50 (Rs 40.50).
