Back Rubber Board aid for processors

KOTTAYAM: The Rubber Board will provide technical and financial assistance to rubber processors who produce block rubber and concentrated latex. The assistance would help in modernising their factories to attain international competitiveness in quality and price.

The Centre has notified that, in case of certain machineries/equipments imported by such processors for processing and quality control, only five per cent basic customs duty in place of the existing 25 per cent will be levied.

These items will be fully exempted from additional duty of customs and special additional duty. The measures being implemented now would strengthen the rubber- processing sector, Rubber Board sources said.
