Ash pond develops breach

KHAMMAM, JAN. 17. The ash pond of Manuguru heavy water plant developed a breach today resulting in a sudden flood of fly ash. Standing crops in 35 acres of the area, near Ammagaripalli village, were damaged.

Pumpsets installed by farmers in the lands and nearby the stream were buried. The Palvancha Revenue Divisional Officer, Ravindrababu, reached the place immediately and took stock of the situation.
