WITH the number of automobiles on Indian roads growing at a brisk pace every year, automotive major MICO is looking to aggressively expand its Bosch Car Service outlets in India.

According to a MICO official, the company is looking to expand the number of such outlets to 50 by the end of this year and to about 200 by the end of 2005. The outlets would be expanded to the semi-urban areas gradually after first consolidating its position in the major cities.

"We are looking to eventually garner a 5-10 per cent market share of the independent garage market in India", says the official. According to market estimates, the independent garage segment is estimated to be growing by about Rs 50 crore every month.

The Bosch service outlets can cater to about 25,000 different types of car models.
