Ban on books

Sir, — This refers to the article, `Ban, burn, destroy' by Rajeev Dhavan (Jan.23).

It is unfortunate that some governments have banned some books simply because a controversy over their publication arose.

Banning a book affects not only the right of the authors and publishers but also that of the readers and the public.
