Amend Gratuity Act

Sir, — The Supreme Court ruling that teachers are not covered by the term employees as defined under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, has come as a shock to teachers.

The Gratuity Act should be suitably amended to restore the benefit to the teachers.
