Pensioners asked to back Congress

TIRUPATI. Feb. 3. The Andhra Pradesh State Government Retired Employees Association has reportedly given a call to its members to vote against the Telugu Desam Party and support the Congress in the elections in protest against the non-payment of five instalments of dearness allowance arrears to pensioners.

The president of the Chittoor district unit of the association, A. Bhaskar Reddy, in a release yesterday said the State unit had asked pensioners to hold public meetings to express resentment against the non-release of arrears.
