Mainly clear sky forecast

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 15.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The relative humidity was 32 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum temperature was 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum 15.5 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 20 per cent.

The forecast for Wednesday is that the sky will be mainly clear and the minimum temperature will be around 16 degrees Celsius.

Programmes for students

Assistance for senior citizens

The elders' helpline (1090), a joint project of the Bangalore City Police and the Nightingales' Medical Trust, will offer free legal advice/counselling through alternative dispute redressing methods between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday on its premises at the office of the Commissioner of Police, Infantry Road.

Legal services for disabled

The office of the Commissioner for Disabilities and the Alternative Law Forum is providing free legal services for the disabled between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. every Wednesday at the commissionerate, 40. Thambuchetty Road. Those interested may call 2548 2639/2641.

Award for institute

The Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore, was recently awarded the Union Ministry of Tourism's award for best tourism educational institution for 2003.

M.V. Balachandar, director of the institute, received the award from the Tourism Minister, Jagmohan, in New Delhi recently, a press note said.
