BANGALORE, FEB. 17. Tata Motors was one of five companies eyeing a large order for mini-buses from the South African Government, which was planning to replace as many as 1.5 lakh aging buses with new ones, a company official told reporters here on Tuesday. The company was aiming to get a big portion of the order, he said. Earlier, Tata Motors displayed its light commercial vehicle, SCFC 407EX turbo, which can carry 3.4 tonnes of load. The company grew 44 per cent last year, driven by increased infrastructure business resulting from a good monsoon, Shyam Mani, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Commercial Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, said.
