COIMBATORE: AirTel, cellular service provider in the rest of Tamil Nadu circle (excluding Chennai), on Friday announced a 40 per cent slash in the processing fee on prepaid recharges. The cut was aimed at bringing mobile telephony within the `Easy Reach' of subscribers.

The CEO and Director, Mobility, Southern Region of Bharti Cellular, P. Swaminathan, said the cut in the fee was backed by additional talk time on every recharge. Through such offers, the resolve was not only to provide value for money but also to expand the mobile telephony market. The slash in the fee would range from Rs. 10 to Rs. 49.50. The measure was expected to enhance the prepaid market segment, considered to be the biggest in cellular telephony market.
