Back Association of British Scholars to be inaugurated

THE British Deputy High Commissioner in South India, Mr Stuart Innes, will inaugurate the 21st chapter of the Association of British Scholars (ABS) in the country here on March 22, says a press release issued by the British Deputy High Commission, Chennai.

The ABS is a national forum for Indians who studied or were trained in the United Kingdom. It is a non-profit organisation supported by the British Council and the British High Commission. Its objective is to pool resources to strengthen the Indo-UK ties.

The inaugural function here next week will be presided over by Prof D. Panduranga Rao, the principal of the AU College of Arts and Commerce and President of the ABS, Vizag chapter. Prof Y.C Simhadri, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, will be the guest of honour. Mr Eunice Crook, Director (South India), British Council, Chennai, will deliver the special address.

Dr A. Rajendra Prasad is the Secretary of the Vizag chapter.
