House burgled
Unidentified persons broke into the house of a businessman, Mohd. Abdul Rasheed, near RTC Crossroads and took away Rs.70,000 cash and a gold chain on Monday. Mr. Rasheed locked the house and went out in the morning. On return, he found the almirah broke open and the property missing, the Chikkadpally police said.
Three held on murder charge
The Asifnagar police on Monday arrested three persons on the charge of involvement in the murder of a history-sheeter, Syed Aziz (33), whose body with multiple knife injuries was found lying on the hilly area of Jirra on Sunday. Investigations revealed that the arrested, Sk. Sultan (28), Sk. Nayeem (23) and Ahmed Hussain (26) allegedly killed Aziz in an intoxicated condition following a petty dispute, the police said. Aziz entered into argument with the trio after consuming liquor. He allegedly tried to attack them with a knife. Sultan snatched the knife and stabbed him to death.
Realtor's murder: two arrested
The Kukatpally police on Monday arrested two persons, A. Sri Ramulu and R. Mohan Reddy, on charges of involvement in the murder of a realtor, P. Krishna Mohan. Sri Ramulu allegedly hired an assassin, Rawoof of Ongole, to kill Krishna Mohan. Rawoof killed Krishna Mohan in February 2003. The murder came to light when the Ongole police arrested Rawoof a couple of months ago. Rawoof was subsequently killed in an encounter.
One killed in accident
A computer hardware engineer, P. Sudhir (24), died in the early hours of Monday after his motorcycle he was riding skidded on the road at HUDA colony under Jubilee Hills police station area. The victim was a resident of Ashok colony in Shanthinagar, the Jubilee Hills police said.
Woman succumbs to injuries
A 60-year-old woman, G. Venkatanarsamma, who slipped down from the top of her house while plucking flowers on Sunday, succumbed to injuries at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences a few hours later. The victim was a resident of Mallikarjunanagar, the Ramachandrapuram police said.
Run over by train
An operator of Government Printing Press at Khairatabad, K. Krishna (36), died on the spot on Monday after an MMTS train hit him while crossing the railway track near Sanjeevaiah Park early on Monday. He was a resident of Patigadda.
