Wipro programme to make children more creative

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, MARCH 15. Enhancing creativity and problem solving abilities in children is the focus of the "Applying Thought in Schools" programme, an initiative of Wipro.

This is done by empowering teachers through training programmes which aim at imparting skills to enable them to act as "agents of change." On Monday, the Wipro Education Forum brought together organisations that help implement the programme, eminent educationists, and representatives of government agencies dealing with education from across the country, for an interaction on various issues here. The focus was on sharing the best practices and debating actions to facilitate quality education.

The relevance of secularism, gender bias, sexuality, and adult-child relationships in the classroom and the need for teachers to work against discrimination, to deliver just and fair education were the focus of the presentation by Devika Nadig of Sparsh, Pune.

Ms. Nadig said her organisation had developed a module, "Drishti", on perspective building for teachers.
