Clear skies

CHENNAI, MARCH 21. The sky on Monday will be mainly clear and the maximum temperature will be around 37 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 34.9 degree Celsius and at Meenambakkam it was 36.9. The minimum was 25.5 at both places. The humidity level stood at 73 and 62 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended on Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in parts of Thorappakkam, West Mambalam, Pudupet, S.K.Nagar, Esplanade, Sowcarpet, Seven Wells, Kilpauk and Royapettah for maintenance work.

Medical camp

The Hindu Mission Hospital, Tambaram, conducted a free medical camp at Oonamanchery, near the Vandalur zoo, on Sunday. About 300 persons attended the camp.

Eye check-up

A free eye camp was held in S.M.Nagar, Pallavan Salai, by Selfless Movement Improving Life Everywhere on Sunday. About 350 patients were screened and spectacles provided free of cost.

Consumer Day

The Thandurai Pattabiram Consumer Council organised a programme to celebrate World Consumer Day on Saturday. G. Srinivasa Rao, DGM (O & M), Ambattur, Chennai Telephones, T. Jayapandian, chairman, Madras College of Pharmacy and M. Shanmugasundaram, Assistant Commissioner of Food and Consumer Protection Department, participated.

ATM inaugurated

An Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of State Bank of India was inaugurated at C-52, 1st Main Road, Anna Nagar East, by Supratik Chatterjee, Deputy General Manager, last week.
