HYDERABAD, APRIL 3. The district Collector, M. Veerabhadraiah, has cautioned freedom fighters in the State against an organisation called `Freedom Fighters' Welfare Committee', which has been allegedly collecting identification documents from freedom fighters promising to get their pension cases finalised. In a statement here on Friday, Mr. Veerabhadraiah said that it had come to the notice of the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, that the organisations, which had no official authority, was sending letters to freedom fighters, asking for identification documents on behalf of the Ministry and claiming that the screening committee had cleared some cases already. The Collector asked freedom fighters not to be misled by agents who promise to get them pension.
