Thiruvananthapuram , April 21

ANYUSER Telecom, a leading voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) player and a subsidiary of the $2.6-billion Anyuser.Net based in Korea, has announced a cut in international call rates.

The new rates effectively make Anyuser's `Global Gupshup' voice service the most economical one in the country, a spokesman for the company told Business Line.

A call to the US, the UK and Canada will now cost Rs 2.35 per minute as compared to the Rs 7.20 per minute being charged by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

A customer has to place a call to any phone in the world from either a PC or through a special IP phone from Anyuser Telecom.

Pre-paid cards in denominations of Rs 108, Rs 270 and Rs 540 are also available at retail outlets across the country.
