BANGALORE, APRIL 25. An altercation between people of two slums in Neelasandra and Lakshmanrao Nagar in Adugodi Police Station limits got out of hand when one group set fire to the shacks in the other slum on Sunday. The situation took a turn for the worse when the second group retaliated. When the police reached there, they reportedly burst tear gas shells to disperse the fighting mobs. Police personnel, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police South, Ramasubba, were camping at the spot. It was not before the fire left many poor families without even their homes. The Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Alok Mohan, said that the situation was under control. Six fire tenders rushed to the spot. The Fire Force said it first received information about the fire at 10.05 p.m. At the Adugodi Police Station, police could not confirm if there were any casualties.
