LAHORE: The selection committee, concerned about the dearth of quality spinners in Pakistan, has proposed to conduct a specialised clinic for spinners under the supervision of former Indian captain, Bishan Singh Bedi. Chief selector Wasim Bari said the committee had sent a proposal to the Pakistan Cricket Board to hold the clinic under the supervision of former greats like Bedi, Iqbal Qasim, Mushtaq Muhammad and Abdul Qadir. ``Bedi is still considered as one of the finest exponents of spin and we feel his presence and tutelage would benefit our youngsters a lot,'' Bari said. ``Pakistan is not short of talent in the pace bowling department as more and more youngsters are coming through. But we have lacked quality spinners for a while now and we need to address this problem urgently to take the home advantage,'' he added. According to the proposal, a group of seven to eight of the best spinners of all categories will be selected for the specialised training.
