Man found dead

The body of a 25-year-old man was found with his throat slit in an open plot at Balaji Nagar under the Kukatpally police station limits on Friday night.

He was identified as Krishna Reddy, a native of Sanghinedi village of Mahabubnagar district. The victim was a trolley driver. The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. The police believe that the victim was done to death elsewhere and later his body abandoned in the plot.

The Kukatpally police have registered a case and are investigating.

Father kidnaps son?

A father allegedly kidnapped his son following dispute over property matters under the Sanjeevareddy Nagar police limits on Friday night. According to the police, Shaik Ahmed, son of Shaik Mehboob, runs a general store at Yellareddyguda. His `mulgi' is situated on the 5,000 square yard land, which is learnt to be the family's ancestral property. However, his father and relatives wanted to give the land for development to builders and asked Ahmed to vacate. He refused and approached the court and reportedly obtained a decision in his favour.

It is learnt that on Friday night, Mehboob along with others allegedly dragged him into a waiting car and sped away. Later, his father-in-law, Ghulam Mohammed Saleem, lodged a complaint with the police. The police said that on Saturday morning, the kidnappers called up Saleem and informed him that they had taken Ahmed to discuss and sort out the matter. Mehboob is at large.

The Sanjeevareddy Nagar police registered a case and are investigating.

Electrocuted

A labourer, M. Sattaiah, a resident of New Patel Nagar in Amberpet, died after he suffered an electric shock while trying to repair a switch board in a building under construction at Tilak Nagar on Friday. He was declared brought dead at the Gandhi Hospital. The Nallakunta police have registered a case.

Man falls from moving train

A 55-year-old unidentified man accidentally fell down from a moving train between Lalaguda and Malkajgiri railway stations on Friday. He was clad in an orange kurta and similar dhoti. The Secunderabad Railway Police shifted the body to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary.

Body fished out

The body of a 25-year-old unidentified man was fished out from Miralam Tank under the Bahadurpura police station limits on Saturday.

The police believe that the victim might have gone to the tank for a dip and got accidentally drowned. The body was shifted to the Osmania Hospital mortuary.

Three held

Three alleged pickpockets -- Balram Shetty of Karnataka, Syed Mehboob Khan of Serilingampally and Nagaraju -- were arrested during a special drive organised jointly by the Musheerabad and Chikkadpally police on Saturday. Nagaraju is an accused in a murder case under the Rajendranagar police station limits. The police also arrested four persons who were found selling tickets in black at Sai Raj theatre.

Case registered

The Humayun Nagar police on Friday registered a case against one Alla Baksh of Kurnool, for allegedly supplying a fake caste certificate to a B.Ed aspirant, G. Vijaya Bhargavi. The EDCET convener, V.V. Sharma, lodged a complaint. The police registered a cheating case and took up investigation.
