Partly cloudy sky forecast

On Sunday, Bangalore will a have partly cloudy sky. The maximum temperature will be around 35 degrees Celsius, according to the weather forecast.

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The relative humidity was 33 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum temperature was 34.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum 21.3 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 28 per cent.

Health camp

Dr. Hoogar Homoeopathy Hospital has organised a free medical check-up camp and counselling from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 5.

Competition

Anjuman Funkaran-e-Urdu, an organisation for social and linguistic harmony, has organised an essay competition in English, Kannada, and Urdu on the topics, "Role of Muslims in India's freedom struggle" and "Was partition inevitable?" Three cash prizes will be awarded in each of the three languages.

The essays, not exceeding six foolscap pages and neatly handwritten or typed, should reach the secretary-general, Anjuman Funkaran-e-Urdu, 51, ITI Colony, 32nd Main, 1st Phase, J.P. Nagar, Bangalore 560078 on or before May 26, a release said.

Contest

The Ramakrishna Math, Ulsoor, has organised a music competition for students aged four to 22 from May 20 to 23. The contest will be in vocal and instrumental music. For more information, contact the math on 25367878.
