Naidu spends a quiet day at home

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, MAY 9. With the declaration of results just two days away, the usual hustle and bustle was missing at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office as the party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, spent a quiet day at home on Sunday interacting with senior party leaders and film personalities.

A number of film and television artistes, who campaigned for the TDP in the election, called on Mr. Naidu and narrated their experiences during electioneering. The artistes reportedly informed him that they had received good response from people. Among those who met Mr. Naidu were the directors - S. V. Krishna Reddy and E.V.V Satyanarayana, the actors -- Nutan Prasad, Murali Mohan, Venu Madhav and Brahmandam.

The senior TDP leaders -- S. Venugopalachary, K. Ram Mohan Rao and T. Devender Goud -- also met him and held discussions.

Meanwhile, the electronic media are making arrangements through their OB vans for coverage of events at the TDP office as also at Mr. Naidu's residence on Tuesday. The TDP chief will remain at home for most part of the time on that day. With all the results likely to be declared by Tuesday evening, the TDLP in all probability might be called to elect its leader on Wednesday if the party performs as per its expectations.
