Two more arrested in connection with abduction and robbery case

BANGALORE, MAY 9. The Yelahanka Police on Friday arrested two more persons said to be involved in the abduction and robbery of the owner of Agragami School in Yelahanka New Town.

The police have recovered a gold bracelet, diamond ring, Rs. 12,500 in cash and a car from the arrested persons.

The police gave the names of the arrested persons as Ahmed (21) of Krishnarajapuram and Muzamil (21).

The name of the person arrested earlier in the case is Narendar (20) of Rayapur taluk, Pali district of Rajasthan.

The police said that the three arrested persons were part of a seven-member gang, which, armed with sharp weapons, kidnapped H.R. Satishchandra from near Pavani Apartment on April 24, last. Mr. Satishchandra was on his way to his school.

The gang, which demanded Rs. 50 lakhs from him, settled for Rs. 2 lakhs, the police said and added that it released him after robbing him of Rs. 30,000 in cash, the gold bracelet and the diamond ring.

The police said that the gang members had threatened to kill Mr. Satishchandra and his family members if he failed to pay the ransom money.

Arrested

The Yelahanka Police on Friday arrested Vishnu (28) on a charge of attempting to murder his wife, Uma.

The police said Vishnu doused his wife with kerosene and set her on fire after she denied giving money for alcohol. Uma was admitted to Victoria Hospital with burns.

Arrested

The Fraser Town Police on Saturday arrested Sadik (21) of Devarajeevana Halli on a charge of lifting a scooter and recovered from him the vehicle.

Raid

The City Crime Branch Police on Saturday raided a house in Kamakshipalya and arrested four women on a charge of soliciting men. The police seized Rs. 1,000 in cash from the women.
