NEW DELHI, MAY 27. Five persons, including two postmen and a customer care executive of a private bank, have been arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police for allegedly duping about 2,000 people of their money on the pretext of providing them jobs. The main accused had been arrested thrice earlier for indulging in similar rackets. According to the police, a trap had been laid near Loni following a tip-off that the main accused in the racket would be coming there in a Honda City car on May 18. The duo, identified as Narender Kumar and Atul Mishra, were arrested when they appeared on scene and the car was also seized. At their instance, two postmen, Brij Kishore, posted at Sunder Vihar post office in West Delhi, and Krishan Kumar, posted at Palam post office, were arrested. Sanjit, customer care executive of a bank in Greater Kailash, Part-II, was also arrested for allegedly helping the accused to open several bank accounts on false addresses. It came to light that Narender and Atul had floated two non-existent companies, Bajaj Industrial Corporation Limited (BICL) and Suzuki Technology Limited (STL), and released advertisements in several newspapers across States like Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh inviting applications for recruitment on various posts in the two companies. After getting the applications, the accused used to send "selection letters" to the applicants and asked them to submit an amount of Rs. 1,650 through demand drafts (DDs) for confirmation.
