New Delhi , June 5

OIL retailing major Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd has announced plans to open 10 recreational highway fuel outlets, which would offer customers facilities such as a shopping complex and a swimming pool.

"The company aims to open 10 recreational fuel outlets in the next five years with an investment of Rs 3.5 crore and expects a return of 14 per cent on the capital invested," said Mr S. Behuria, Chairman and Managing Director, BPCL, at a press conference.The company will open `BP Oasis' that boasts of Asia's first ever swimming pool at a fuel outlet at the Delhi-Mathura Road. These outlets will also provide facilities such as motels, gymnasiums and eateries.

"The introduction of BP Oasis has set the stage for the next big revolution in fuel retailing in India. With improved highways network and more motorists using highways, the development of such a complex is needed keeping in view demand from high-end consumers," Mr Behuria said.
