Back Ashok Leyland sales up 33 pc in May Our Bureau
Chennai , June 7 THE buoyant trend in Ashok Leyland's sales figures continues with the company selling 33 per cent more vehicles in May2004 as compared to May 2003. According to statistics provided by the company, it sold 3,905 vehicles in May (2,946 vehicles). Sales of medium duty vehicles in the domestic market were 2,916 (1,964), a growth of 48 per cent. Total exports were up by 64 per cent to 308 (188). Total sales in the domestic market were 3,597 (2,758), a 23 per cent growth. Total cumulative sales in April-May 2004 were up by 58 per cent as compared to the same period last year with MDV sales up by 70 per cent.
