Eve-teasers arrested

NEW DELHI, JUNE 8. Five eve-teasers were arrested from Delhi University's North Campus yesterday.

The accused, Jagdish, Shakeel and Sunil, were arrested from outside the Shriram School of Arts and Commerce, while Moti Lal and Ravi Kumar were arrested from outside Hindu College. The police said Jagdish is a painter by profession and Moti Lal is an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. All the accused were arrested by the anti eve-teasing squad of North Delhi police.

Cash stolen

A 35-year-old driver with a South-West Delhi-based company lost Rs. 1.75 lakhs when some miscreant stole a bag containing the money from his scooter's boot at Connaught Place in New Delhi last afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2-30 p.m. when Bal Krishan withdrew the money from Citibank for the office. He was about to start the scooter when he felt burning sensation around his neck. He claimed that he went back inside the Citibank office to apply cold water to the neck and returned to find that the bag containing the money was missing.

A case of theft has been registered at the Connaught Place police station and further probe is on.
